Annual Francis Fest a Success

Students, staff and families gathered around the JC pavilion Saturday, Sept. 27, for the annual homecoming Francis Fest to enjoy the good weather and the offerings of various members of the community.

The household tables were the center of attention. With most of the tables located in the JC Pavilion, hundreds of people gathered to see the different vendors. Households sold a great variety of products, ranging from handmade rosaries to hair tinsel to the well-beloved Daughters of Divine Mercy bread.

Junior Isabella Garcia agreed that the best part is always “Getting to experience the community and witness the personality of different households even through their ways of marketing.”

The households weren’t alone in providing. Various small, local Catholic businesses and independent students set up their own tables at the Fest.

Other highlights of the event included the dunk tank, bounce houses for the younger children and food. Multiple generations of families gathered to celebrate another year at Franciscan with apple cider slushies and street tacos.

“I’m glad that it’s so lively,” said senior Molly Blake. “It’s a really great community of people supporting each other!” And support each other they did.
