Barons compete at Spire Collegiate Indoor Games

The Franciscan University track and field team competed in the Spire Collegiate Indoor Games on Feb. 9.  

Freshman Rebecca Bolster competed in the 60m dash, finishing with a time of 8.79 seconds. 

Freshman Luke Tran ran the men’s 60m with a time of 7.81 seconds. 

Freshman Lauren Dosch broke her record in the 800m with a time of 2:15.53 seconds. This was almost four seconds faster than her previous time and put her as the 27th fastest runner in Division III. 

Junior Claire Walters debuted with running the 3000m. She placed 16th with a time of 10:41.15. 

The Lady Barons’ team of Bolster, Dosch, sophomore Clara Symington and junior Jessica Campbell broke the 4x400m relay program record by more than 11 seconds, ending with 4:06.52.  

Graduate student Kimbria Lance achieved the best clearance in the pole vault at 3.00 meters.  

Senior Brigid Mack made her season debut in shot put and had a best throw of 8.42 meters.  

In men’s shot put, sophomore Nicholas Brass had a season’s best throw of 13.15 meters to tie the team lead and make seventh in the conference. Junior Charles Jardine threw 12.46 meters, and freshman Raphael Blose had a best throw of 8.56 meters. 

Freshman Seamus Sommer placed 66th with a time of 4:47.14. 

Tran competed in the long jump and had a best jump of 4.28 meters.  

Junior Joseph Rohde ran the 400m, finishing 28th with a time of 51.29 seconds. 

Sophomore Dwayne Gethard, graduate student Ryan Ozymy, sophomore John Sicree and Rohde posted a time of 3:24.93 in the 4×400 relay. 

The Barons will compete next at Muskingum on the weekend of February 16th. This will be the last meet before the PAC Championship on Feb. 22.
