The Crazy Dance drew a crazy and rambunctious crowd in the JC Williams Center at 9 p.m. on Aug. 31.
Disciples of the Word household hosted their annual dance, helping connect both freshman and returning students in a fun environment.
Hundreds of students flocked to the JC Williams Center and danced with their friends in the fun, energetic environment. Students filled the dance floor from wall to wall, which was decorated with household colors, lights and streamers, while many more stood and watched from above on the upstairs balcony.
The annual dance is a unique household event, requiring students to attend wearing their wackiest garb. Outfits this year included squid hats, construction worker vests, glow stick costumes, ninja turtles and countless more.
Disciples played many popular songs. From Taylor Swift to Pitbull, from Journey to Earth, Wind & Fire. The music only got better as the night went on, bringing with it the energy from the crowd until midnight.
Students enjoyed jumping around and forming circles with dancers showing their moves in the center. The worm, swing dances and even a few back flips made appearances and sent the crowd into a roar.
One attendee, Paul Conti, a sophomore clinical psych major, described the party as “Rambunctious! (The night) was filled with joy and it was beautiful to see so many people having so much fun.”
The party ended at midnight, having successfully united students new and old alike to dance and let go of stress from an invigorating first week back from summer break.
