The atrium of the J. C. Williams Center darkened at 7 p.m. March 29, as the main lights were replaced with colorful disco lighting for the Bedtime Boogie dance, hosted by Exc!te.

Dance music played throughout the evening as students got down on the dance floor, which was illuminated by colored lights and scattered glow sticks.

This small event lasted until 11, but attendance peaked during the first 20 minutes, due to the supply of free Crumbl cookies. However, a tempting array of free food was offered throughout the night, including soft drinks, popcorn, and freshly-spun cotton candy.

Partygoers also received free glow sticks in an assortment of colors, as well as plastic sunglasses with built-in colorful flashing lights. Many attendees simply dressed in casual clothing, but the few brave souls that did accept the invitation to come in pajamas rocked the bedtime look while grooving on the dance floor.

Although the atrium was never crowded, the dance drew many students to at least stop by to socialize and grab food and sunglasses. While a large number simply passed through rather than staying and dancing, quite a few students jumped in to jam with their friends.

Songs played included hits by Ariana Grande and Olivia Rodrigo. The funky pop music kept students consistently on the dance floor, as they took a break from their studies to recharge.

With delicious free food, upbeat music and disco lighting, the Bedtime Boogie allowed students to enjoy the fun of a casual slumber party with their friends.
