Franciscan students had the opportunity to learn about the eucharistic miracles documented by Blessed Carlo Acutis at an exhibit curated by a student and displayed in the Gentile Gallery March 27-29.

Student Maci Hay worked with Fishers of Men men’s household to sponsor the exhibit, which detailed the 152 eucharistic miracles complied on the website created by Acutis in 2005, www.miracolieucaristici.org.

The exhibit displayed information, photographs and artwork, with the panels organized in rows by country.

In addition to eucharistic miracles, the exhibit documented miraculous communions, the miraculous experiences of saints and mystics with the Eucharist and Marian apparitions associated with eucharistic miracles. The exhibit also included information about many obscure eucharistic miracles.

One example of such a miracle displayed at the exhibit took place in Ludbreg, Croatia in 1411. According to the exhibit, when the wine was consecrated at Mass by a doubting priest, it became liquid blood and is still held for veneration in Ludbreg.

Another obscure eucharistic miracle documented in the exhibit was the miracle of Brussels, Belgium, which occurred in 1370 when several hosts were stolen from a church. According to the exhibit, when the thieves desecrated the hosts with knives, blood began to flow from them.

Senior Joe Knorr said of the exhibit,“I love how the relics and the collection in general beautifully encapsulates how big our Catholic faith actually is.”
