The Franciscan University Student Government met September 14 to discuss the reallocation of funds for the St. Vitus Social Dance Club.

After opening with a short prayer and roll call, Treasurer Danny Butters announced the current contingency balance of $9,280.80. Immediately following were committee reports, where Sen. Samantha Martinez, chair of the finance committee, announced that Fall Bill 13, for the reallocation of funds to St. Vitus Social Dance Club, had passed committee by a vote of 2-0.

When the meeting progressed to formal business, Sen. Martinez formally introduced the bill to the cabinet. Originally, $80 had been allocated for the Dance Club for prizes to be awarded at their event on September 17. The purpose of this bill was to reallocate those $80 to include prizes as well as hors d’oeuvres, an appetizer for the event.

Representing the club at the meeting was club president Rachael Whitman. The bill was passed without debate.

During the announcements portion of the meeting, sophomore Sen. Jeremiah Poff expressed that the signs around campus for the special elections weren’t big enough and didn’t include all the positions that should have been. Vice President Clare McCallan noted this and said that new posters would be made with the suggested adjustments.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:10 a.m.
