FUS Club Fair Boasts Activities Galore

Students perused the many opportunities at the Spring 2026 Club Fair, searching for hobbies to spice up their semester

The fair, which took place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30 in the J.C. Williams Center, featured dozens of student clubs.

Students shuffled from table to table, learning about each club and joining GroupMe chats for more information. Each table featured eye-catching displays that showcased each clubs’ unique offerings.

A representative of the Historical Games Club, Jack, wore a white Revolutionary War style wig, drawing many students to his table. According to Jack, the Historical Games Club meets every couple of weeks to play strategy-based history board games. They are advised by popular history professor Dr. Alexander Burns. Jack admitted that his wig had been a very successful advertising strategy throughout the club fair.

Franciscan University’s Turning Point USA chapter used the club fair to spread the word about their reveal party for their spring 2026 guest speaker. TPUSA student president Ted Welsch said that potential speakers include Lila Rose, Michael Knowles, Father Mike Schmitz and many more—even Taylor Swift. Attend the party on Feb. 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the St. Leo Room to find out who it will be!

Militia Immaculata had a table beautifully decorated with images of Mary and a blue floral tablecloth. Their representative Alyssa Marie was handing out miraculous medals that she had touched to her first-class relic of St. Maria Goretti. She shared that Militia Immaculata’s goal is to help members grow closer to the Sacred Heart through Mary’s Immaculate Heart.

Alyssa Marie also mentioned an exciting event hosted by Militia Immaculata. On Feb. 11 from 7 to 8 p.m. in Christ the Teacher, Mariologist Dr. Mark Miravalle will be speaking about Mary’s titles of Coredemptrix and Mediatrix. This event is meant to bring clarification following the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith’s controversial document Mater Populi Fidelis

The table for Filipinos for Christ was decorated vibrantly with the flag of the Philippines and images of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Santo Niño. Their representative, Dylan, shared that the club has delicious food at every meeting. They even coordinate a cafeteria takeover with Filipino food and cookies. He said that they are planning a night dedicated to a cultural dance called Tinikling for an undecided date in February.

From board games to speakers, prayer to food, Franciscan University clubs feature a variety of activities. The club fair was a great opportunity for them to advertise their offerings and draw students into their culture.
