Franciscan University Student Government announced during its Nov. 20 meeting that it would provide airport shuttles for Thanksgiving.
According to posters posted around campus, the shuttles will run to Pittsburgh International Airport Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 2 to 8:15 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 7 to 10:45 a.m., in 75-minute increments. Shuttles will also be available for people returning to the airport Sunday, Dec. 1, from 3 to 9:15 p.m. Students can sign up by following a QR code on the posters to a Google Sheet.
The Senate also passed Fall Bill #32, which gave a member of the Byzantine Club a reimbursement of $111. Maria Manzano, the club’s secretary, spent that amount to purchase items for a club fundraiser at Francis Fest, according to the bill.
Majority leader Maryann Cortese asked Manzano, who was present at the meeting, on what does the club spend money. Manzano said the club has brought seminarians to campus to talk about Eastern Christianity, hosted Byzantine prayer services, such as Akathist, and coordinated trips to Byzantine Divine Liturgies in the area, all of which require money. The bill then passed without objection.
Student Government will next meet Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. in the St. Leo Room.
