Franciscan University Student Governement passed a total of 10 bills, eight out of 10 bills benefitting student life at the meeting Wednesday, April 21.
Spring Bill #53 allocated an addititional $8,000 on top of the $4,000 for grad week’s events and celebrations.
There will be games at Franciscan Square with food and drink provided Tuesday night of grad week, food trucks on campus Wednesday and free appetizers at Bennigan’s Thursday.
Certain grad week events are open to the entire student body. These events, along with the dates and times of said events, will be disclosed at a later date.
Spring Bill #49 allocated $200 to FUSG for the purchase of a coffee table for the Totus Tuus Library Room located in a former study room on the first floor of the St. John Paul II Library.
Spring Bill #55 allocated $200 to Filipinos for Christ to jump start their lumpia mercado fundraiser on April 23 from 12-4 p.m. behind the J.C. Williams Center.
Spring Bill #54 reimbursed Filipinos for Christ $34.23 for the purchase of a Tinikling pole, which is used for traditional Fillipino dances.
Spring Bill #51 allocated $500 to FUSG to purchase snacks for students during finals week.
Spring Bill #52 allocated $200 to purchase pizza and beverages for the presidential candidate townhall meeting Sunday, April 25, at 4 p.m. in the fieldhouse plaza.
Spring Bill #50 allocated $200 to purchase end-of-year gifts for certain members of Student Life, university administration and FUSG.
Spring Bill #48 allocated $40 to reimburse senior Joshua Feibelman for the purchase of chocolate gifts for the orchestra that played at last weekend’s masquerade ball in Piazza dei Santi.
Spring Bill #56 allocated $381.93 to FUSG for the reimbursement of the chess club tournament, which included food, beverages and a tournament style chessboard.
Spring Bill #57 allocated $150 for the prizes of the Chess Club tournament that will occur on Sunday, April 25.
