Franciscan University Student Government opened the spring semester Wednesday, confirming the appointments of its new treasurer and its Austrian delegates.

Junior Athanasius Sirilla was confirmed by the five senators in attendance to replace Kelsey Scott-Avery as treasurer. Sirilla had previously served on Student Government as a senator for two semesters and was the Austrian Ambassador last semester.

The senators also confirmed Carly Newman as Austrian Ambassador and Joshua Schutte as Austrian Consul for the spring semester. All three confirmations were unanimous.

Student Government also suspended its bylaws to allow for a speedier election to fill vacancies in the Senate. Candidates must declare their interest to Chief Justice Billy Chester by Friday.
