Tucked away in a comfortable classroom, Love of the Lamb household hosted their annual Gilmore Girls-themed night in Christ the Teacher on Friday, Oct. 18.

The party featured snacks, Gilmore Girls outfits and a viewing of several episodes from the first two seasons of the popular show.

“We started out really chill and fun,” explained Alessandra Barker, a senior English major. “We also played fun music, like Katy Perry and some fall music.”

“We just socialized, had snacks, and talked,” added senior English major Lauren Hunter, one of the main coordinators of the event. “It went really well: lots of people showed up, and we had a bunch of snacks and a lot of fun.”

“It was a fun aspect to see the community laughing together … after midterms. It was super relaxing,” added sophomore biology major Anabel Govea.

“And the fall vibes … it was great to celebrate fall together,” said Hunter.

True to the theme, several of the household sisters came dressed as characters from the show. Three of the hostesses, Hunter, Govea and junior political psychology major Hannah Neils, dressed as Rory Gilmore — a popular costume choice. Barker chose to appear as Rory’s mother, Lorelai, and sophomore theology major Rachel Lasher dressed as Luke Danes.

After the initial social time, the partygoers enjoyed watching Episode 21 (“Love, Daisies and Troubadours”) from Gilmore Girls Season 1 and Episodes 1 (“Sadie, Sadie”) and 2 (“Hammers and Veils”) from Season 2, featuring relationship tensions between both Lorelai and Rory and their respective love interests.

The night ended after a successful, relaxing night of delightful feminine bonding and the homey, fall imagery of Stars Hollow
