Junior education major and highly decorated swimmer Elizabeth McNulty does not make the mistake of assuming she swims for her own accolades.
The holder of eight different school records in the butterfly and medley events and current AMCC Swimmer of the Week instead swims for a greater purpose.

“I really enjoy waking up with the same girls every morning and working our tails off together with the same goal in mind,” said McNulty. “That goal is to swim for the greater glory of God so that when it comes time for competition we always walk away with a victory.”
McNulty, who won three individual events and one team event in Franciscan’s final meet before the AMCC championship, credits her coaches for their dedication.
“The coaches helped me get better by sticking by my side every single step of the way,” said McNulty.
McNulty said they also encouraged her to become the best version of herself inside and outside the pool.
McNulty added that she looks forward to the championship meet, “because the girls have put in countless hours of dedication to this year, and they deserve it,” said McNulty.
Another highly anticipated happening is her senior season, said McNulty, where she will get to meet new teammates and watch the old teammates grow.
To McNulty, school records are nothing more than an opportunity to acknowledge God’s unending love. “I can’t think of a bigger honor,” said McNulty.
