At their first formal meeting of the semester on Wednesday, Jan. 27, Franciscan University Student Government passed a bill that approved the reallocation of funds for the canceled March for Life.
Senator David Hahn sponsored Spring Bill 3, reallocating a total of $5,000 originally designated to Students for Life. $2,500 was re-allocated to the AIM Women’s Center, $1,000 for the Wellness Center, $900 for coffee and donuts on upcoming feast days, and $600 for the upcoming Lenten Franciscan 40 Campaign. The bill passed unanimously.
Student Life matched Student Government’s donation to the AIM Women’s Center, bringing the total donation to $5,000.
Spring Bill 1, approving the purchase of a $75 record player and $75 vinyl, and Spring Bill 2, approving the purchase of a $160 retractable banner that sponsors the new St. Drogo coffee bar in Antonian Dining Hall, were both approved unanimously as well. Both bills were sponsored by senator Josh Costello.
Senator Maggie Cavanaugh and Vice President Clement Harrold were absent from the meeting, both excused.
Student Government meets every Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Seminar Room of the St. Joseph’s Center.
