The Knights of the Holy Queen household hosted a “Pink Shirt Party” on Sept. 7 at the J.C. Williams Center.

Pink streamers adorned the ceiling, and pink balloons bounced around the dance floor, as lively music filled the air. Although the gathering started small, the mood was upbeat and welcoming, setting the stage for a fun evening.

Freshman Elizabeth Anderson, who attended the event with friends, shared her positive experience. “We were here at eight,” — an hour too early, she explained. “But despite that, everyone’s been welcoming.” Anderson and her friends quickly became the life of the party, leading the dancing with their enthusiasm.

With the right music, attendees soon filled the dance floor, singing and dancing to popular tracks by artists like Kesha and Taylor Swift, known for their energetic party anthems.

Junior, Peter Lim, one of the event organizers and a photographer and videographer for the Troubadour newspaper, encouraged attendees to join the household.

“If you want to know more, come to our commitments,” Lim said. He added that there is “a household secret” behind the pink theme, but newcomers would need to join to learn more.

As the night progressed, the DJ gave a special birthday shout-out to Angela Durle, who celebrated with friends at the party. The lively atmosphere and sense of community made for a memorable start to the school year.
